3M™ RFID Tracking Tag
The heart of the 3M™ RFID File Tracking System is the 3M™ RFID Tracking Tag, a paper-thin reprogrammable tag composed of an antenna and a microchip. When attached to a file folder, it can be inventoried or checked in and out of virtually any location using the 3M™ RFID Handheld Tracker or the 3M™ RFID Tracking Pad.
The Tracking Tags can be placed on files or storage boxes filled with files that are going to conference rooms or offsite storage, or are being transferred to another location.
When files are stacked in offices or other areas outside of the file room, inventory and searches can be performed by using the Handheld Tracker. There is no need to touch each file. You simply scan the files and the information is automatically recorded into the Handheld Tracker. Transferring the data from the Handheld Tracker to the database
is simple, keeping the database current.
In addition to being guaranteed for the life of the original file they’re affixed to, tags only carry the item ID, thus helping to protect client privacy. And because RFID technology eliminates the need for “line of sight,” checkout and return are simplified.
